İbrahim Kılıçaslan, doctoral candidate and research assistant in the History Department, has been awarded the Yale-Fox International Fellowship

We are pleased to announce that İbrahim Kılıçaslan, doctoral candidate and research assistant in the History Department, has been awarded the Yale-Fox International fellowship for the academic year 2022-2023. The Yale-Fox International Fellowship will enable Kılıçaslan to spend ten months at Yale University and conduct research on his dissertation. For his dissertation, Kılıçaslan plans to write a collective biography of bureaucrats in the Ottoman central administration in the eighteenth century, and tackle questions related to the civilianization of governance and the early modern roots of the modern state in the Middle East.
